Are mini laptops good for school?

By Mike

kevh.wong asked:

I have a Sony Vaio desktop. But I wanted to get a laptop for school. Anyone use those mini-notebooks for school? Is it too small for actual work? I was looking at the HP 2133 or the 1000 series when it comes out. Any recommendations? I went to look at the Acer one but didn't like it. I am totally computer stupid so help please haha.

I got to demo an HP 2133 a few weeks ago for about 5 days in my high school. It is good for getting online quick, typing up documents, etc. It is also a fast computer for how small it is.

I recommend it. Eventually you get used to the keyboard and mouse layout.

I just got finished answering a question like this. Their proper name is called netbooks because their usually used for people who use WIFI at stores like starbucks. Their small usually around a 5-8in screen and dont have a whole lot of memory. Good companies to check out would be Acer, and also LG has some new netbooks coming out.

But before you purchase a netbook may sure that your not going to put a whole lot of files on it. The memory is really small and like i said before, these were oringally made for mostly internet usage and small typed documents like word, powerpoints, and graphs. Their kinda cheap too anywhere from $300-800 for a “alright” one.

HP Mini notebook

YES!

They are great! I love my hp mini , and have gotten many compliments at school about it! I love it! I do recomend getting the 60 GB though.

It has a great graphics card for playing games as well ( 45 Frames per second compared to the average 16 FPS)

It is great for school because I can take it anywhere: on the train, bus, car, school, without taking out a big brick…it fits in perfectly
